A D&D 5E SETTING
IN SPACE

Spelljammer defines itself as "...Home of the stars and gateway to the heavens, the Astral Plane teems with excitement and possibility. With the help of magic, spelljammers can cross the oceans of Wildspace, ply the silvery void known as the Astral Sea, and hop between worlds of the D&D multiverse." Originally published in 1989, it will be re-released for 5th edition in August 2022 - which means we have plenty of time to figure out cast and crew. While the sourcebook (and, ergo, additional subclasses/races/etc) is not yet available at the time of posting, I'm looking to note interest and figure out the basics of a campaign in the meantime. (That said, Unearthed Arcana might offer a sneak peek!)

Drawing inspiration from Firefly, Star Trek, Starlight Brigade, Treasure Planet, and others, the current concept is of a ragtag crew gathered together by one Captain Dayleph, trying to make a living in a galaxy universe setting where almost anything can happen. I'm not exaggerating; considering the multiverse, landing on different planets, planes, or whathave you are definitely possible. SO with that in mind, go ahead and give me your basic concepts here!

I live in PST [GMT-7] and am open Monday, Wednesday, Friday nights after 5:30pm
And Saturday/Sundays after 3pm.

We will be running one day a week.

ROUGH CONCEPT; Okay so, I have a lot of ideas running about and am absolutely willing to fill in gaps if others are dead set on something. Of the new races, I'm really thrilled by the Autognomes and the Gif {Giff? Jif? Unsure yet) the Hippo people! A slime/ooze person. Or even the new bug people! Open and willing to try any race at all really. New or old.

I am assuming 'classes' are the standard, so I've got experience playing Barbarian, Bard, and Ranger the most, but some exp. with Druid, Fighter and dabbling with others. I am willing to try any class out as needed for a group. I've not played a primarily spell casting only class yet, but I do very well with Support classes. LOVE support. Don't need to be center of attention kinds. I also can do the smash babies too, so all good there. AKA: Pretty open to help fill in class types or things might needed. Willing to play as any gender, and always LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Ideas I have so far would grow more with the types of classes and races I can choose? But at the moment I'm giggling over a Hippo Person as an intellectual or support or bard or something while looking really rough and tough like he should be a Fighter. That fun type of friendly and sweet but looks like he can rip your head off stereotype. Or maybe a Autognome Healer like Druid or something! Just... this very inorganic being that focuses on organic druidy things. Maybe an Ooze fighter/barbarian, or even a Ranger, drawing back those wiggle arms with a bow, so cute. I'd love either for a NEW adventurer who wants off this asteroid and is excited to be out into the universe to try to become something, or learn new stories or something. Or even a seasoned pirate looking for work. Maybe someone who has either lost their captain and crew to some Solar dragon and is now Tired but this is all they know and ant to stick with it. Maybe someone who looks a bit crazy at times and others worry they might be unhinged haha. Perhaps an aristocrat who heard there was value on a planet somewhere and is trying to GET there secretly to make their fortune and maybe falls in love with the crew and doing things with them. Or even a war Vet from a space war whos kind of had shit luck until now!

ANYTHING YOU NEED FROM ME?; So far, nope? Just keep me in the loop if you need a player, I am 100% thrilled by this book set coming out and looking forward to things.

AVAILABILITY; Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are all OPEN for me with 0 commitments. Every other Wednesday I have a scion Game [though I am unsure how long it will keep going as it feels unstable]. Thursday I have a D&D group late night. And Friday a D&D late night. On those three days I could do anything in morning or mid day so long as it ends before 5. Otherwise, on open days I am able to get up and join at ANY time and stay up as late as needed because I have no life. AKA: Don't worry too much on scheduling with me. I'll follow others. I am in PST/California.
